The area remains unknown to many, I rather like it like that, but has been described by the gardener Monty Don as 'the real France'. The director of Batiment du France, (English heritage- national trust equivelent) was amazed by its history, natural beauty and incredible buildings and could not understand why more French have no idea where we are.
