Property
Built in the 16th century as a hunting lodge for the Princes de Cleves this magnificent old house sits in its own garden and park of 10,000m2 and is located in the heart of a thriving, easily accessible village. It has modern amenities: oil fired central heating throughout and is connected to main drainage. Part double glazed with telephone and broadband internet connections. Original features are still abundant – the authentic 16th century staircase, open fireplace(s), exposed beams plus the original cellars.
Chambres & table d’hôtes ( bed and breakfast with dining facilities )
The house contains four spacious and comfortable guest rooms, three on the ground floor and one above the porch on the first floor. All rooms have their own en suite, fully equipped bathroom, Tv and Tea/Coffee making facilities.
Also, in a separate building, (the former carriage house) the B&B has its own large kitchen, dining room, guest toilet and small library.
Le Relais de Chasse is a company and as such is the sole source of income. The books can be made available for those seriously interested.
The B&B offers you the chance to run a busy self contained and successful business. It also offers plenty of opportunity for you to stamp your own mark on it and grow. (Enhancing the turn-over considerably)
It would be possible to increase the available guest rooms in the main house or build an apartment in one of the out buildings. The large garden, which has electricity, water and sewerage available, could be used for camping or to build chalet-type holiday lets.
Also, with the right permit, you could run a small restaurant allowing you to serve food to the public as well as your guests.
Private living area
The 1st floor and part of the attic are currently in use as private living space, consisting of:-
First floor- large, recently renovated, kitchen and dining room, large lounge with 16th century fireplace and exposed beams, office/library and a spacious bedroom with en suite bathroom.
