The region, in which the house is located, is called The Touraine and that guarantees a range of tourist attractions, too many to mention in this context. Especially very famous castles, chateaux, as Chenonceaux (8 km), Cheverny, Chambord and Chaumont sur Loire. Picturesque medieval towns nearby are Montrichard at 12 kilometres, situated on the beautiful Cher River, with various recreational facilities (swimming, canoeing, pedalos), as well as Bléré a little further away. Furthermore, a visit to Loches, 22 km away, is highly recommended, with its pleasant town centre and castle with its high Donjon. Saint Aignan sur Cher, 22 kilometres east, offers, besides a beautiful castle, a zoo of world fame, called Zoo-parc de Beauval. An attractive place, which should not be forgotten, 45 kilometres away is Blois.
Tourists from all over the world come to Amboise, located 25 kilometres away. This is where Leonardo da Vinci spent the last years of his life. There is a castle cum museum with a large park, which is worth visiting and where his inventions can be admired in scale. The biggest city in the neighbourhood at 42 km is Tours, also called 'little Paris'. This was once the capital of France with its old city centre, cathedral and opera. Tours is a city that offers everything a person could want, including a large airport and Tgv station. From the house you reach in +/- 10 minutes the new highway A85, which brings you in western direction in a short time to Tours or in eastern direction to the further Orleans.
