Aveyron - Near RODEZ
13th century castle on a hill on the edge of a village. Partly listed as a Historic Monument since 1993, and fully listed in 1995.
Overlooking the valley, its architecture ranges from the 12th to the 17th centuries. Its remarkable Romanesque tower has been in its original state since the 12th century. This primitive tower, of which three levels remain, is more similar to the "belfry-tower" type.
In 1993, the current owners bought it almost in ruins and began a restoration campaign acclaimed by the national press, with the help of the Regional Conservation of Historical Monuments, which lasted more than ten years: repair of the facades, new framework, new roofing, and all the interiors. At the beginning of the 21st century, this home has regained its majestic place in the Aveyron landscape.
On 3 levels of approx. 250 m²each, it comprises 12 main rooms including 2 lounges, a library, a dining room, a gallery, a semi-professional kitchen, 6 bedrooms, each with their own bathroom and their fireplace in working order, a dungeon with 4 rooms of 20m² to be renovated.
Underfloor heating, by oil-fired water circuit. New electrical system.
Outbuilding of 120 m² to be restored.
Heated swimming pool, park of 7257 m².
The castle is located less than 20 km from Conques, north of Rodez.
