In a peaceful valley of forest and field lies this magnificent abbey, a listed Hitstorical Monument, with a proud history and splendid architectural features in its exterior and interior.
Set within a single estate of 18 ha 08 a 96 ca crossed by a small stream, this elegant château rises at the heart of a landscaped property. Originally the abbatial residence of a monastery, the estate features a pleasant tree-lined entrance drive, a beautiful courtyard of honour, and a well-designed park enhanced by an old hornbeam walk and fine ornamental trees. A small kitchen garden and meadows dotted with ancient oak trees complete the setting.
The property enjoys a privileged location between Le Mans and Angers, in the midst of preserved countryside. A village with essential shops lies only 3 km away, while a small town less than 10 km from the property provides full services and a Tgv railway station. The estate is also easily accessible via the nearby motorway.
The château corresponds to the former abbot’s residence of the monastery. Because the commendatory abbots generally lived at court or in their dioceses, the residence was arranged and decorated from the mid-18th century onward in order to be rented to private occupants. This use explains the refined and residential character of the interior decoration, much of which has survived in remarkable condition.
Offering approximately 400 m² on each level, the ground floor is organized around a central vestibule paved with cabochon stone tiles and positioned along the main axis of the façade. This space leads to the reception rooms and formerly provided access to the cloister. Two lateral doors framed with sculpted cartouches decorate the vestibule: one adorned with stylised foliage in a pure Rocaille style, the other with a medallion depicting an armoured figure holding a quiver and crowned with a laurel wreath.
To the left of the vestibule lies a large salon measuring 7.29 m by 10.72 m, with stone flooring and four windows overlooking the courtyard of honour and the park. The room retains its original 18th-century décor. The central door, with its original woodwork and iron fittings, is surmounted by a sculpted panel depicting a trophy of musical instruments accompanied by a bust and garlands. The four side doors are decorated with stucco medallions representing allegories of the four seasons, created by itinerant artists of Italian origin—decorative work that is relatively rare in the region. The stone fireplace, with Rocaille ornamentation, was originally painted to imitate marble, while the grey wall tones today echo the colours used before the French Revolution. This wing of the ground floor also includes a small tiled sitting room with a wooden fireplace, a kitchen-dining room with terracotta flooring, a bedroom with dressing room and modern bathroom, and a service staircase.
To the right of the vestibule is an oak-parqueted study with a 19th-century marble fireplace, created from the former waiting room of the abbatial residence, which was divided during the 19th century to form this office and a passage toward the dining room. The dining room retains most of its Louis Xv decorative elements: the fountain, fireplace and sideboards beneath the windows are made of black marble from Solesmes. The fireplace mantel, designed and painted to resemble carved panelling, is made of sculpted stone, as are the frame of the central doorway decorated with a basket of flowers and the fountain surround crowned by a sculpted head of Neptune. A second vestibule leads to the main staircase, a wooden stair with square balusters dating from the late 17th century. Its first flight is built into the thickness of the wall, leaving access to the library, whose doorway is surmounted by a sculpted 19th-century head. This level also includes the library, a dining room installed in the former kitchen with terracotta flooring, a monumental fireplace and an original cooking range, as well as a small kitchen, a laundry room, various service rooms, a small cellar and a WC.
The first floor is arranged around a gallery that serves four bedrooms with bathrooms or washrooms, two additional bedrooms, a children’s bedroom, a bathroom and a linen room. In the south wing there is an independent apartment composed of a living room with an 18th-century fireplace, a library, a kitchen and a bedroom with bathroom and Wc. A large attic extends above the whole building.
The outbuildings include several service buildings containing storage sheds, a workshop, stables, a tack room, a barn, a dovecote, a sheepfold, and former bakery and dairy buildings. A caretaker’s house, entirely restored in recent years, comprises an entrance hall, tiled kitchen, back kitchen, living room, two bedrooms, a bathroom and WC.
The property is also equipped with full equestrian facilities. The stable features Regupol rubber flooring in the stalls and in the wash area, with Röwer & Rüb boxes (4 x 3.6 m) made of hardwood, galvanized and painted burgundy, and a solarium equipped with Uv and infrared lamps. The indoor arena, of Olympic dimensions (21 x 61 m), is drained around the perimeter and every ten metres. It rests on a crushed stone foundation with a compacted layer, topped with 14 to 16 cm of Fontainebleau sand mixed with high-quality Belgian fibres. The arena includes safety mirrors (6 m in the centre and 3 m in each corner) and an irrigation system supplied by water from the river. A lunging ring with a diameter of 18 m, built on a compacted crushed-stone foundation, is covered with a mixture of Fontainebleau sand, natural sand and fibres to create a deeper base. Wooden paddocks complete the equestrian facilities.
The entrance gatehouse, the façades and roofs of the abbot’s residence, the well, the vestibule and staircase, the large salon and dining room on the ground floor, the seven bedrooms on the first floor, and the bridge over the stream are all listed as Historic Monuments . The façades and roofs of the outbuildings, together with the dovecote in its entirety, are listed on the Supplementary Inventory of Historic Monuments . The property therefore benefits from the favourable tax regime associated with Historic Monument status.

South of Sarthe, between La Flèche and Sablé, over more than 3 hectares, an old farm restored with dependencies and equestrian facilities. Fringed by meadows, small woods and hedgerows, a country road leads to the property entrance. A wooden gate opens onto a gravel garden and a courtyard. The latter distributes four buildings: a renovated old farmstead housing the main dwelling, former pigsties, and two barns, all renovated. One of the barns could be converted into a dwelling. With four bedrooms and three bathrooms, the main residence faces southwest toward the courtyard and northeast toward an orchard. An additional bedroom and bathroom can be added. Raised on two levels, including a loft with a stone-washed exterior, the building is punctuated by doors and arched bays with brick-inset frames typical of the region. A covered area adjoins the rear facade. The roof is a two-pitched tiled style, lined with three Jacobin dormers on the courtyard side and three roof windows on the orchard side. All windows are double-glazed except the dormers. The whole is surrounded by a garden and paddocks on more than 3 hectares, with a large pond.

South of Mayenne, in the bocage, an authentic 16th-century manor and its outbuildings on 6 hectares. A tree-lined driveway winds through the estate’s park to a courtyard. After a few steps, the manor rises 30 meters downhill, on the hillside. Built of stone and rubble, lime-plastered, it consists of two slightly offset blocks linked by an exterior stair tower topped with a pepper-pot parapet. The building has a south ground floor, a raised ground floor, a first floor, and a second floor under the attic. The slate roof is gabled. Two bay windows pierce the north façade. The south façade features two buttresses, and this side’s roof is pierced by two wooden mullioned dormer windows framed by pilasters and topped with triangular pediments. The window and dormer surrounds are in tuffeau stone. A small building is attached to each gable end. The manor’s entrance is accessed from a paved terrace. On the east side of the dwelling, a small building houses an summer kitchen opening onto a second slate terrace, surmounted by a pergola. A few steps lead to the rear of the manor, where there is a flower garden and a wide staircase down to a swimming pool. The pool is framed by two walls and terraces. Old stables rise along one side of the courtyard. The access driveway continues toward a parking area near a second outbuilding that serves as a garage and storage room. The landscaped park extends beyond and on both sides of the basin. It includes notably a large orchard, a grassy area surrounded by tall trees, a swimming pool, and a tennis court.

Blandouet-Saint-Jean (53): This wonderful manor overlooks the Mayenne countryside, to the west of the Erve valley, in the heart of the historic Maine province. Built on noble land mentioned as early as 1390, this exceptional residence bears over six centuries of history. The feudal families that succeeded one another have enriched the property over time, giving birth to an authentic dwelling where medieval heritage, Renaissance elements, and 17th and 19th century adaptations blend harmoniously. From its privileged position, the property displays elegant gray stone architecture with a slate roof. Recent renovations preserve its character and ensure modern comfort.
To the west, the principal residence of 255 m² of living space reveals vast volumes on two levels, superb old fireplaces, medieval architectural elements, and an elegant Renaissance pavilion punctuating the ensemble. Its impressive southeast-facing façade borders a large garden court that descends gently toward the entry tower of the domain, probably from the 18th century, square in plan with a basement used as a cellar accessible from the east, a room on the ground floor, another on the first floor accessible by a straight staircase backed against the west façade and topped with a pavilion. Perpendicular to the house, to the north, an old stable serves as a dependence.
On the ground floor (cellar level) of the house, beneath the impressive period beams, a corridor serves an office, a shower room and a living room (29 m²). A dining room (29 m²) follows, and finally a large equipped kitchen (41 m²). Each fireplace rivals those in the preceding rooms.
A light staircase climbs from the kitchen to the first floor. There a long corridor opens onto each of the five bedrooms (14, 16, 21, 24 and 25 m² respectively), one with a shower room, some with decorative fireplaces, finally leading to the staircase that descends back to the entrance.
Courtyard, garden, rose garden, above-ground pool, permaculture vegetable garden, orchard with multiple varieties, small pond, hen house. Total area of about 1 hectare. Vaiges 7 minutes, Laval 25 minutes. Access to the A81 motorway toward Paris or Brittany in 8 minutes.

In the heart of the Hauts-d'Anjou region, this superb manor house offers approximately 273 sq m of living space, set on a plot of around 1,000 sq m. It stands majestically overlooking a magnificent landscaped garden, entirely enclosed by walls, guaranteeing peace and privacy.
Remodeled in 1710, this former manor house captivates with its unique character. Its recent, meticulous renovation has preserved its period architectural features, true witnesses to its history, while incorporating high-quality contemporary amenities.
From the entrance, the front steps adorned with Ionic columns, surmounted by a balustraded balcony, announce the exceptional nature of the property. The spacious entrance hall leads to a light-filled living room, enhanced by solid oak herringbone parquet flooring and a fireplace with an insert. An elegant dining room, featuring a remarkable carved wooden fireplace, provides an ideal space for entertaining. A discreet door leads to a contemporary kitchen, open to the living room and with direct access to the terrace and garden.
A beautiful original solid oak staircase leads to the first floor, dedicated to the sleeping area, comprising three bedrooms, including a spacious master suite with an en-suite shower room, as well as a laundry room.
The second floor, under the eaves, offers a large open-plan room, perfect for an office or playroom. This room provides access to two bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms on one side, and a large additional bedroom on the other, enhanced by a superb exposed timber frame.
This family property also features a vaulted stone cellar, an outbuilding converted into a workshop, a detached garage, and a pleasant landscaped garden. Located close to amenities and just 30 minutes from Angers, this property will appeal to those who appreciate character and are looking for an exclusive living environment, ideal for a family home or a high-end event hosting business.
