Riverbank at Amboise, Indre-et-Loire
At the heart of the traditional province of Touraine, the chateaux of Chenonceau, Amboise, Loches, or Azay-le-Rideau, which seem to have come straight out of a fairly tale, are solid proof of the centuries of history that have marked Indre-et-Loire. All this wealth, spread out along the banks of the Loire, a mild climate as well as the relative proximity of Paris can explain why property in Indre-et-Loire can sometimes appear a little more expensive here than elsewhere. But you have plenty of choice: a beautiful split level in Tours or, for enthusiasts of architecture, a private mansion in Richelieu. And, for a little greenery at the weekend, why not an old house in the vineyards, just 5 minutes from Loches, or a private leisure pond with grounds near Amboise.
